We run a free online service that helps people in the United States request a personal loan of $500 to $5,000 and hear back from lenders in our network. We are not a lender. We do not make credit decisions, set rates, or decide who is approved. Our job is to make one well-built request reach lenders who may want to make you an offer.

Our team works from Richmond, Virginia. This page explains what we do, how we are paid, how we keep our guides honest, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help borrowers who need $500 to $5,000 compare real loan offers quickly, understand the full cost before signing, and decide with no pressure and no fee from us.

Small loans often come up at the worst moment: a car repair before a work week, a vet bill, a medical deductible, or a gap between paychecks. In those moments, people tend to grab the first offer they see. We built our service so you can send one request, see which lenders respond, and compare APR, fees, term, and total repayment side by side.

We also publish plain-English guides because a good decision needs good information. Our guide to personal loan rates and our payment calculator exist so you can test a number before you commit to it. If a loan does not fit your budget, the best outcome may be not borrowing at all, and we say so in our content.

What We Are and What We Are Not

We are a loan-request connector, not a lender: we pass your request to third-party lenders in our network, and each lender alone decides whether to offer credit and on what terms.

To be specific about our role:

  • We do: host the request form, share your details with participating lenders, and show you offers or redirect you to a lender that responds.
  • We do not: lend money, approve or deny applications, set interest rates, collect payments, or service loans.
  • We cannot promise: that you will be matched, that a lender will approve you, or that you will receive a particular rate or amount.

Lenders may run a soft or hard credit check. Any loan agreement is between you and the lender, and the lender's disclosures control. Read our advertiser disclosure for more detail on these limits.

How We Earn Money

Using our service is free for borrowers; we are paid by lenders and marketing partners in our network, usually when a request is delivered to them or when a loan is funded.

You never pay us a fee to submit a request, to view offers, or to decline them. If anyone claiming to represent us asks you for an upfront payment, gift card, or wire transfer to "release" a loan, it is a scam. Stop and contact us.

Partner compensation can influence which lenders appear and the order in which offers are shown. We tell you that openly because it matters. Compensation never changes the terms a lender gives you, and it does not change the information in our educational guides. Not every lender or loan product in the market is part of our network, so comparing outside our service is always reasonable.

Editorial Independence

Our guides are written and reviewed by an editorial team that works separately from our partner relationships, and no lender pays to shape, approve, or remove what our articles say.

When we explain APR ranges, payment examples, or eligibility factors, we use hedged estimates and say that lenders set actual terms. We avoid hype, we do not claim anyone is pre-approved, and we include costs and warnings next to benefits. Payment figures on our site come from standard amortization math so they can be checked.

When we find an error, we fix it. If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, use our contact page and tell us which page and which sentence. Readers who flag mistakes help everyone who reads the guide after them.

Who We Serve

We serve U.S. adults who need a personal loan between $500 and $5,000 for personal costs, debt consolidation, a small side business, holiday expenses, or medical bills.

Our users have every kind of credit history. Some have strong scores and want to compare rates fast. Others have fair or limited credit and want to see whether any lender in our network will consider them before they spend time applying lender by lender. We aim to be useful to both, with honest notes on what lenders commonly look for and how a lower score can raise the cost of borrowing.

Lender availability depends on your state, and some states limit which loan products can be offered. Our small business coverage is limited to small working-capital needs; we do not arrange large commercial or government-backed business loans.

Our Values

We work by four values: be clear about our role, be honest about cost, protect the information you share, and respect your right to say no at every step.

  • Clarity: we state plainly that we are not a lender and that approval is never assured.
  • Honest cost: we show APR and total repayment, not just the monthly figure, so the true price is visible.
  • Privacy: we use your information to process your request and as described in our privacy policy, and we offer simple ways to opt out of marketing.
  • No pressure: submitting a request does not obligate you to accept anything. You can decline any offer at no cost.
